Meet Jason

Jason A. Grout is a multi-faceted designer, educator, and project coordinator with expertise in STEAM education, digital fabrication, immersive media, and curriculum development. His work blends innovative design thinking with hands-on learning, fostering collaboration between students, educators, and industry professionals.

  • Jason holds a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from the University of Kentucky, specializing in design education, environmental sustainability, and adaptive reuse. He has worked with architecture firms worldwide, including SHoP Architects in New York, USA, and GFC Architecture in Paris, France.

  • Currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Integrated Design Innovation at the University of Plymouth, Jason's research focuses on immersive media (VR) design, emphasizing co-design methodologies. His recent project, Remember: Immersive Memory Archive, explores how virtual reality can document and revisit personal memories through interactive environments.

  • Jason is an experienced educator, having designed and led STEAM education programs integrating 3D printing, CNC routing, and laser cutting. He previously taught as the Digital Art, Design, and Fabrication Teacher at Asia Pacific International School in Seoul, South Korea, where he introduced students to digital design tools and managed the implementation of new fabrication technologies. He now works as a Project Coordinator at Knowle West Media Centre, leading educational initiatives and community engagement programs.

  • Beyond education and research, Jason works as a freelance media developer for independent brands across the UK, specializing in photography, graphic design, and digital media strategy. He creates compelling visual content and manages digital distribution through platforms like Instagram and Facebook.
